Emma Anna's latest collage narrative Once, upon a mushroom documents the surreal landscapes and characters of her fictional utopia, The New Old World (aka The NOW).

 

This is a fungitale that stretches into the depths of the artist's vivid imagination, a place that is full of humour, fantasy and secret desire. Mythical and mystical, like the many mushrooms that pop up within its pages, Once, upon a mushroom celebrates the beauty and symbolism of fungi, documenting a hypercolour world in which spawn and spores have taken over the reins of power.
